A grand antique Georgian seal fob from the early 19th century featuring an intaglio at the bottom carved with repeating initials on top of a milky white agate.
In the 18th and 19th century fobs were typically worn as a decorative accessory to go along with a pocket watch. The intaglio was then used to stamp a person's signature or perhaps a sentimental message or image in sealing wax on important documents.
The fob is gold cased and has been intricately chased with ornate foliate patterns and scrolling motifs across the entire fob and up toward the loop.
It’s a well-preserved piece of Georgian history and very collectable. It would look wonderful suspended from a gold chain.
